There are plenty of wonderful options when considering camping near Missoula in May. Many people consider areas on the outskirts of Missoula when picking their campsite including Lolo, Frenchtown or Clinton, Montana. Campsites on the outskirts of “the big city of Missoula” gives you the rustic, outdoors experience and easy access to tons of activities, restaurants and events. The best of both worlds!

Pro Tip: Pack for all weather conditions. Bring tall socks, hiking boots, a rain jacket, fleece jacket you can layer underneath, light gloves and a hat. A few extra pairs of socks come in handy!

Short Answer: Yes! Due to popularity Montana RV and tent campsites fill up quickly, especially in the summer months. To have the best experience possible we highly-suggest booking your campsite in advance.
